Community Gardening
Community Gardening Opportunities at Native Earth Teaching Farm:
Individuals, groups or families may rent a plot in the community garden for $50/season.
Only organic methods are allowed, and water is available; other than that it's up to you to provide tools, fencing, and inspiration. We encourage you to sell your produce at our co-operative farmstand (50/50 split.) Plant a cash crop if you wish, or just sell your surplus. This is a great project for an enthusiastic gardener, and for those just starting out, beginner's gardening classes are available.
Can't commit to a whole season? Native Earth Teaching Farm also has a community Three Sisters garden (featuring the traditional staple crops of our region: corn, beans, and squash.) It is used for research and teaching and is farmed by Rebecca with the help of visitors who volunteer during the Teaching Farm's open hours (W-S-Sun 10-6, summer, W 10-12, winter.)
