Permaculture (from ‘permanent agriculture’) is a system of sustainable design. Our current project is planting and tending an Edible Forest Garden which mimics the structure of the forest while providing food and other useful products.
The first planting day was Sept. 30, from 2-6, when we ‘planted’ spawn for three varieties of edible mushrooms to benefit the soil.
Our next planting day will focus on nuts and will be the day after Thanksgiving, Fri. Nov. 25, from 2-4.
If you would like to know about future planting days and other ways to get involved with this project, leave your contact info at Native Earth Teaching Farm, 508-645-3304.
